10/3 Eveley House


House. C16, C17, mid C19, with much C20 restoration. Stone and tile. Medieval
timber framed hall of 4 bays, with a Victorian cross-wing at the east end,
extending to the rear in line with 2 other extensions (one C17 the other C20).
Front (south east) of 2 storeys, 3.1 windows. Steep hipped roof with gablets,
the cross-wing having a lower hipped roof at right-angles. The walls are of
stone, with some brickwork, the wing is of painted brickwork: 3 stone buttresses
support the wall at the west side. C20 casements. Entrance at the rear. The
rear shows one hipped and two ½-hipped roofs above a continuous stone wall, the
middle section belongingtothe C17 wing. Inside, the massive framing is exposed,
with alterations of the C20.
