House, now 2 dwellings. C18, early and late C19. Painted brickwork in
Flemish bond, rubbed flat arches, plinth, half-octagonal 2-storeyed bay to the
north side. Hipped slate roof, wide eaves with coupled carved brackets set
against a plain fascia, flat roof to the bay; the valley of the former double
pile has been covered by a hipped roof, giving a Mansard appearance. Almost
square Regency house, with a lower ( and probably older) rear wing. East
elevation: (once symmetrical), 2 storeys; 2.3 above 1.3 windows. C20 casements
(formerly sashes in reveals). The south elevation of the main block has 2
storeys, with similar treatment, and contains a solid Tuscan porch (with pilasters)
of 2 bays, with a sash window, and a panelled door; to the north extends the
wing, of 2 storeys, 3 windows, with sashes and an upper oriel (of c1900). The
other elevations are irregular, but include a staircase window with Gothic lights.
Interior: original staircase, panelled doors in architraves, and some ceiling
cornices.
