SU 73 NW FARRINGDON CHURCH ROAD

2/48 Berry Cottage

Formerly 2, now 1 cottage. C17, C18, with C20 restoration and minor rear
extensions. The west side wall has exposed timber framing with painted brick
infill, the east side (C18) is brickwork of Flemish bond, with cambered arches
to the ground-floor openings (former doorway now filled). Tiled roof ½-hipped
at the west end, with sloping roofs above the 3 dormers (with cills at eaves level).
North front: 1 storey and attic; 3 windows. C20 traditional casements.
Boarded door in a plain frame. The rear wall is of brickwork, with C20 outshots
at each side, beneath catslide roofs.
