A war memorial erected after the First World War dedicated to the men of Brewham who lost their lives whilst serving their country, and subsequently to those who lost their lives in the Second World War.
A war memorial erected after the First World War dedicated to the men of Brewham who lost their lives whilst serving their country, and subsequently to those who lost their lives in the Second World War.
The monument is constructed in marble and consists of an obelisk set on a square plinth. To its front the top of the obelisk has, carved in relief, a wreath with below an unfurled flag. The sides of the square base are inscribed with leaded lettering:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD - AND IN GRATEFUL - MEMORY OF THOSE WHO DIED - IN THE - GREAT WAR - 1914 -1918 - (3 Names)
THE LORD REDEEMETH THE SOUL OF - HIS SERVANTS; AND NONE OF THEM - THAT TRUST IN HIM SHALL BE DESOLATE - PSALM. XXXIV. 22

The war memorial in the rural parish of Brewham was erected in the churchyard of St John the Baptist after the First World War to commemorate the men from the village who had lost their life whilst serving their country and, subsequently those who had lost their life whilst serving their country during the Second World War.
The Brewham War Memorial is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Historic interest: as an eloquent witness to the tragic impacts of world events on this community, and the sacrifices it has made in the conflicts of the C20;
