5/8 Church of St James


Parish church. 1875, by R J Jones.

Aisleless nave and chancel, north vestry, south porch. Flint walls with stone
dressings. Tile roof. Small cusped lancets, three at the east end. The west
end has a coupled window. Perpendicular window. from the old church, flanked by
massive stepped buttresses which support a prominent belfry, with coupled gables
and bell openings, and minor buttresses at the top. The interior is traditional/
Victorian, but there is a C15 octagonal font, and some C18 tomb slabs in the
floor of the chancel.
