SU 62 NE EAST MEON EAST MEON

1/1 Peak Farmhouse

16.3.54 II*

House. 1728, with early C19 rear wing, and late C19 minor rear additions. Front
wall of brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, rubbed flat arches, thin 1st
floor band, moulded brick cornice to parapet with stone coping and cills: other
walls of colourwashed brickwork. Half-hipped tile roof. Symmetrical south-east
front of two storeys and basement, five windows. Victorian sashes in reveals.
Early C19 stucco Tuscan doorcase, with pilasters, above three semi-circular stone
steps, plain fanlight and four-panelled door. Other elevations are plain, with
casements and plain doorways. The hall and staircase are original, of oak with
dado panelling: the north wall of the south room retains its oak panelling.
