Description

SU 71 SW HORNDEAN BLENDWORTH

9/12 Gateway, forecourt paving,
and roadside boundary wall
to Hook Cottage

GV II

Features associated with the front of the house. Early C19, restored early C20.
A path in front of the house is laid with tiny rounded flint pebbles; this ends
in a gateway in the plain boundary wall, of flint with brick dressings. The wall
rises in curves to meet tall brick piers, linked by a wrought-iron lamp bracket.
The wrought-iron gate imitates the form of the Gothick casements.
