3/6 Barrow Hill Farmhouse

II

House. Originally timber-framed, with much alteration and recladding, of C17,
C18 and C19. The upper front wall is tile-hung, the lower is brickwork of English
and Flemish bonds, meeting in the middle at a vertical joint, the north wall is
mostly malmstone with brick dressings (of two periods), slate-hung south gable.
The front roof is slate, but most of the roof is of tile. Casements. C20 door-
ways at each end elevation. The interior indicates its origin as a timber frame
house, the lower rear wing having a barn-type frame.
