Coachhouse and stables, converted to flats. Mid C19 by Alfred Waterhouse.
Buildings of faintly Tudor style, ranged round 3 sides of a square courtyard,
with a wall on the north side. Malmstone walls with Bath stone dressings.
The interior elevation of this unit has 4 coach entrances. The tower has a
pyramid tiled roof with a gable (with clock roundel) above an oriel, the wings
end in gables. The entrance (east) elevation faces the driveway to the house,
being a symmetrical design, with a central tower above a carriage arch, flanked
by single-storeyed ranges, ending in slightly projecting units. The south
range continues the single-storeyed arrangement, with similar details. The
west range is 1 1/2 storeys, with domestic features above carriage entrances. The
block, is linked to the house by a narrow block with a central carriage opening,
being a Gothic arch beneath a gable. Casement windows, and plain doorways from
the courtyard.
