'Winepress'

Ruin. Late C13. Rubble stone. This is part of the 'Winepress' (qv), as
shown by excavations of 1900-10 but was divided from it when C20 road
driven between them. Ruin consists of 2 1/2m high wall that seems to retain
end of embankment that runs north-south. Near each end are walls at
right-angles that are now no more than buttresses. This item lies within
the Abbey ruins Scheduled Ancient Monument.
