Farmhouse on site of monastic grange. Medieval origins rebuilt C16 and
remodelled c1700, altered C19. Rubble stone with brick dressings, old
plain tile roof. End onto road and set back, 2 storey and attic, 3 bay
with crosswing across far end and single storey wing to rear side of road
end bay. Garden front has crosswing to LH end. In angle between it and
main range C19 rectangular flat-roofed brick porch, with modillioned
cornice, 2-light casement in raised architrave, and door on RH side. End
of crosswing has paired 2-light casements in separate raised architraves,
and small similar in gable. In bay to RH of porch are paired 3-light
casements in separate raised architrave, on both floors. RH bay has an
intermediate level 3-light casement in brick opening with gauged arch.
Unusual roof structure between crosswing and main range. Beside gable of
crosswing roof looks as though there should have been a hipped roof over
angle between 2, that has been cut away, with 2-light casements on 1st
floor and attic of both faces with just small top of hip-roof.
