17/28 Home Farm (Norris's)
Model farm group of milking sheds, dairy, stables, boiler house and barns.
Mid C19, yellow brick with red brick arches, slate roof, iron ridges.
E-plan building of spinal range of 1½ storey, 3 bay building in centre
(boiler house) and 5 bay single storey range each side; from one side of
this range, 3 single storey 7 bay wings of stables or barn; on other side
at one end projecting octagonal dairy with verandah all round. One side of
spinal range has different sized segemental head windows. Over centre of
taller central building is lucam. At RH end octagonal dairy having timber
posts on corners to support 8-faced bell-cast roof. Between posts timber
fence. Under 2-light window on 7 faces, plank door on other. Sloping
roofed vent dormers high set on roof. Behind this, linking it to rest is
smaller. dairy-type building. Good example of mid C19 model farm.
