Description

COPYTHORNE PAULTON'S PARK
SU 31 NW
2/11 Bridge on drive south
east of house site.

GV II

The roadbridge crosses the head of the southern arm of the U-shaped lake,
filling the valley of the Cadnam River. 1850. The structure has three
equal arches of yellow brickwork, with interlocking keys between plain abutments
having moulded stone caps. The space between the solid supports is filled
by a series of cast-iron rails, which slope above the outer spans. Beyond,
the abutments continue as flanking walls, curving outwards to the end as
piers.
