House. Circa 1700 encasing of an older building altered C19. Brick, some
stone dressings, old plain tile roof. 2 storey 7 irregular bays, double
pile wing to rear of one end bay, originally both. South front has
panelled brick face of raised 1st floor band and pilaster strips at each
end and between bays. LH 2 bays are narrow with thin recessed panels
between bays and between LH bay and end pilaster. C19 2-light casements on
both floors in these bays. 3rd bay from LH end has C19 gabled brick porch
with apparently reset stone surround and voussoir arch. Central bay and
2nd bay from RH end have C19 tripartite windows on both floors. Bay
between has blocked doorway with stone surround. C19 windows appear to
have replaced stone mullioned windows. Dentilled brick eaves cornice.
Steep pitched hipped roof. Stacks one half external near front wall and
other near rear wall, on LH end. Interior plan considerably altered C19.
Front and rear ground floor rooms have c1700 panelling much rejigged.
Front room has reset Jacobean overmantel. Rear room has C16 4-centred
fireplace. Building was damaged by fire in 1976 and now in derelict state.
