House. Mid C18 altered and extended C19, altered C20. Brick, in header bond to
old part with blue headers on sides, old plain tile roof. 2 storey and attic,
5 bay with, to one end,C1800 same height 2 x 2 bay wing, projecting one bay, and
single storey 2 bay ballroom in front of it, to rear wide 2 storey, 3 bay C19 of
2 builds. Garden front has central C18 doorcase of plain pilasters supporting
Doric entablature with triglyph and pediment, underpanelled reveal and C20 glazed
door. Over C18 round-headed 12-pane sash in Gibbs surround. On each side C19
hip-roofed central bay having 16-pane sash in front and narrow 8-pane sashes on
angles. Above each 2 C18 12-pane sashes under rubbed arches with raised fluted
keystones. Rusticated quoins. End stacks, a pair each end either side of flat
top to roof. To RH projecting 2 x 2 bay wing has similar 1st floor sashes. In
front of wing ballroom with on side similar sash in 1st bay and canted bay in 2nd
over low parapet also similar quoins (on other side brought-in C18 mahogany
concave door). Inside main block, behind door, hall C18 with dado panelling and
staircase of moulded handrail and turned balusters. 6-panel doors lead into rooms
and rounded arches with moulded springing, on both floors. To RH dining-room with
panelling full-height on hall wall, dado-level elsewhere.
