SU 1405 RINGWOOD MARKET PLACE

15/18 No 1 (W Ayles & Son)

House now shop. C16 core,refronted C18,altered early C20. Timber-frame core,
brick encasing, painted, old plain tile roof. 2 storey, 3 bay with projecting
crosswing on one end. Front has set forward C20 shop-front of double plate-glass
window to LH half, RH half has plate glass window either side of recessed doorway
into RH projecting wing bay. Fascia runs right across. On 1st floor has to LH
and centre C18 flush-frame 16-pane sash under rubbed arch, in RH bay early C19
segmental head 16-pane sash. Roof overhangs and runs in front of gable of cross-
wing. This has higher ridge and C19 curly bargeboards. Inside on 1st floor
timber-frame uncovered, probably C16.
