Small house. Late C17 altered C18. Rendered brick, old plain tile roof. 2
storey 3 bay with lower wing to rear. Front has central C19 wide 6-panel door in
thin architrave with cut brackets supporting pediment. Four 12-pane sashes and
above door blind opening. Each side on both floors 16-pane sash under cambered
arch. Timber dentilled eaves cornice. Overhanging eaves to roof hipped to RH.
Stack at LH end and large stack or hip behind ridge. This house is where the
Duke of Monmouth was held after his capture in 1685.
