11/8 Lychgate and wall to
Sopley Cemetery

Lychgate and churchyard wall. Late C19. Brick walls, some stone dressings,
timber-frame lych with tile roof. Central lychgate with quadrant walls either
side and further straight lengths of wall. Walls have offset plinth, and are
2m high with piers at 2m intervals having stone caps. Central lychgate has dressed
stone piers. End on 3 bay gate of heavy timber crown-post roof. Narrow all round
bell-cast roof to main gabled roof with carved timber gable. Between front piers,
double gates.
