SZ 19 NE SOPLEY SHIRLEY

11/3 Shirley House

18.11.85 II

Farmhouse. Late C15 altered C17, extended C18, C19. Cruck timber-frame encased
and extended in painted brick, old plain tile and slate roofs. Plan of 2 storey,
3 wide bay C18 front range, behind C19 tall block and. behind that 1½ storey, 3 bay
C15 range. Front has central C19 half-octagonal half-glazed porch with hipped roof.
In each bay 2 or 3-light segmental head casement. On 1st floor 3-light casements.
Roof half-hipped to RH. Ridge stack to RH of centre and at Ill end. Inside rear
C15 range raised base crucks survive with cut tie beams.
