10/22 Roydon Manor

GV II

Manor house. Late C17 altered C18, much rebuilt mid C20. Brick, some blue, old
plain tile roof. 2 storey and attic. 9 bay double pile. Entrance front has 2½
storey centre 3 bays under kneelered gable. 3 tall 15-pane sashes on ground
floor. To LH, centre bay of 3 has 6-panel door in Doric doorcase with broken
pediment. Each side 12-pane sash and similar in RH flanking bays. 1st floor
raised band, and between LH bay and next semi-external stack on front face. On
1st floor of flanking bays 12-pane sashes, and to centre bays, set a ½ storey
higher,9 pane sashes. All windows under segmental arches of rubbed bricks.
Kneelered inverted W gables with walls and gable wall to centre gable. Ridge stack
on main roof above centre and at RH end.
