SU 20 NE LYNDHURST SWAN GREEN

Cottage. Early to mid C17 with C18 alterations and C19 and C20 additions. Timber
frame, brick, weatherboard cladding to additions, hipped thatched roof, central brick
ridge stack. Single storey and attic. C17 two unit plan with central lobby entry
and stair at rear of stack: timber frame front wall rebuilt in C11 brick in Flemish
bond, now painted white. Central entrance doorway with a three light casement to
either side, all under brick cambered arch heads. A two light casement dormer above
each ground floor window. Leaded casements lights in wood frames, boarded door.
Thatched roof broken out over open porch supported on two timber posts. At rear a
C19 lean-to extension under catslide roof. C19 extension at left hand end of front
with hipped roof, C20 extension at right hand end with flat roof.
