13/12 Trial tower south of North
Lodge and Stableblock.

Trial tower. Circa 1880 for ATT Peterson. Mass concrete constructed in 'lifts'.
Square plan 4-tall-stage tower. Ground floor stage has high-set opening on each
face, tall second stage has 2 openings, and opening in centre of third stage,
moulded strings between stages, and heavy cornice below top stage. 2 round-headed
openings and coping round top. On one face large crack running all the way down,
presumably the reason why construction stopped.
