1690. 2 storeys and attic. Red brick walls, blue headers band at 1st
floor level, stone and flint base. Modillion eaves cornice. Centre part
of house set back, with projecting wings on either side. The South wing
C18. Centre - 5 windows with flush frames. Fine late C18 central pedimented
doorway with Tuscan columns and enrichments. Simple iron railings to
steps. Six-panel door with panelled reveals. Sash windows with glazing
bars. Five gabled dormers. Two insurance plaques.
Nos 2 to 9 (consec), the Royal Hotel and garden wall, and Nos 22 and 23
form a group.
