Reconstruction of older building. Front C19 early. 3 storeys. Stucco,
rusticated quoins. Somewhat Italianate. Narrow recessed centre. Old
tile roof. Irregular windows. Early C18 staircase. Early C18 building
and C16 brick chimney stacks at rear. Sash windows with glazing bars.
Painted brick band between floors. No 22 Royal Hotel Annexe:- C19 mid.
2 storeys, stucco. Tile roof. Gable with wooden barge boards. 2 sash
windows and door. Forms a link between No 23 and Royal Hotel.
The Royal Hotel and garden wall, and Nos 2 to 9 (consec), 22 and 23
form a group.
