SU 53 NE ITCHEN STOKE AND OVINGTON GRANGE PARK

6/14 Castle Cottage at
lower end of lakes-
in the Grange Park

GV II

Folly. Early C19. Brick cased in flint with brick and stone dressings and
window surrounds. In form of 2 storey square tower with battlements with
attached to front left corner octagonal stair turret and attached to right end
battlemented single storey porch. Ground slopes steeply to rear to give base-
ment on that side. Tower buttressed on ground floor with central single rounded
head window and small rounded head door to porch. On 1st floor a 2-light
rounded head window. To rear on basement level a pointed stone doorway. Decay-
ing shell of building remains.
