SU 53 SE ITCHEN STOKE AND OVINGTON OVINGTON

8/24 Old Rectory

GV II

Rectory, now private house. Mid C18 altered early C19. Brick, stuccoed on
front,roof slate. T-shaped with service wing to rear, 2 storeys and cellar,
3 bays. C19 central front door in gabled, glazed porch. Each side tripar-
tite sash with glazing bars; right window C19 with elliptical heads to sash
heads. Above 3 smaller tripartite sashes in moulded frames, with panelled
pilasters between lights and entablatures over. Brick dentil eaves, low
pitch roof with rendered ridge stack between right and centre bays. To
right end black stuccoed 2 storey bow. Interior mainly late Cl8/C19 with
fireplaces, doors and window reveals, ceilings and staircase of that date.
