GV II

House. C16 & C18. Timber-frame with wattle and daub and brick infill,
roof thatched. End on to road 4 bay timber-frame with centre smokebay,
and C18 half bay and left wing attached to road end and C18 half bay
and right wing added to far end. Right, garden side 2 storey, 6 bay,
C16 house has square panelled framing with diagonal braces and butt
ends of 1st floor joists visible in left, road end 2 bays. C18 door-
way right of smoke bay with a 3 or 2-light casement in other bays.
Blank half bay at road end and blank gable to projecting right single
storey wing. On first floor 3 and 2-light casements. Roof hipped with
ridge piece, and long ridge stack over smoke bay. Plan of 1730 shows
existing ground plan of house as now.
