5.12.55 part of 22


Terrace of 3 houses (extended at the east to incorporate a carriage entrance
to No 22). Dated 1813. Painted brick, and slate roofing. 2 storeys, 3+1
upper windows. Nos 16 and 18 are original, with later sashes in old frames,
the ground-floor to No 18 having a wide bow front of 40 panes, with a moulded
cornice and a frieze. No 20 has a modern casement above a recent bow-fronted
bay, the easternmost unit has an angular bay above the carriage entrance.
There are 3 identical house doorcases, with 6-panelled doors (the lowest flush
panels reeded) above 3 steps, panelled reveals (again with reeded lower panels),
narrow pilasters with cut scroll brackets, supporting a flat hood with moulded
cornice and reeded frieze, broken forward in a segmental curve.
