School now house. Circa 1864 by W Butterfield, altered by Sir T G Jackson.
Flint with brick dressings bands, roof tiled. U-shaped with 1 1/2 storey
house left side and large 2 storey, formerly open to roof, school room on
right and between 1 1/2 storey range with entrances to both. Front on right
has gable end of house with a 2-light mullioned and transomed window on
each floor with half hip to roof. Centre range of 3 windows slightly stepped
back. At left door to house, in centre slightly projecting porch with blocked
door to school and 2-light casements in gabled dormer above. At right 4-light
wide casement, above hipped dormer with mullioned and transomed windows.
Toothed eaves cornice. On right wide gable end of school room with pair of
tall windows replaced by camber headed casements on each floor, and separated
on ground floor by brick buttress. Above, between windows brick trimmed re-
cessed oval panel with Lord Ashburton's arms. At top of gable corbelled
timber bellcote with hipped roof and weathervane.
