11/3 Coach & Horses

Public house. C17, early C18. Part timberframe with brick infill, part colour-
washed brickwork, roofs plain tiled. L-shaped with C18 building on Oxford
Road, and C17 building behind and to left of it, with later infill between.
C17 building refronted early C19, 2 storey 4 window range. To right of centre
pair of doors with single casement outside each and timber tiled porch over
both. To right unequal 3-light casement with blocked window and door to left.
Above 4 regular window openings, 3 with small sashes, the other blocked. Roof
steep pitched with ridge stack to left of centre. C18 building 3 bay 2 storey
on brick plinth. Regular front with door in left, large original 6-panelled
with unusual fretwork fanlight. To right 2 12-pane sashes. String course to
1st floor. 3 6-pane sashes with centre having raised plain brick surround.
Roof steep pitched with large external gable stacks to each end. To left mid
C18 bay added with 2 sashes, to link buildings. Inside C18 building moved
early C18 staircase with moulded handrail and in room to right niche with
reeded softwood surround.
