Wall with attached well house and gate piers. Circa 1816. Flint with brick bands
and strips and moulded brick coping, well house has brick dressings and flint
panels, tiled roof. Wall 100m long at right angles to entrance front. At far end
on side away from house, brick gate piers on spur wall. Wide rectangular piers with
diamond brick finials topped by gablets. Near house on this side, connected by
spur wall, octagonal well house of 1½ storeys. Each side has flat pointed arch to
panel on ground floor, with 3-centred arch to panel above. Moulded brick 1st
floor string and eaves, and hipped roof. Doors on opposite sides. Inside C19
beam engine,installed over well,made by Duke and Ochendon Engineers, Littlehampton
and London.
