8/24 The Old Vicarage

Vicarage now private house. Circa 1835, extended mid C19. Brick partly colourwashed,
partly slate-hung, slate roof. L-shaped house originally with added block to
form rectangle, with bay and gable attached and some C20 additions. Garden front
2 storey, 2 bay, slate-hung. Original front remodelled with 2 2-storey canted flat
roofed bays. Right bay has French windows and tall sashes in sides with bipartite
sash above. Left bay has tall bipartite sash on ground floor and similar other
windows. Between bays is gable with bargeboards and below this on 1st floor level
corbelled gabled oriel window with bipartite sash, with similar bargeboard. All
windows have 4-centred heads. Gable end stacks. Entrance front has 2 gables with
½-bay between and bay on left end. Right gable is end of original house and gable
end of garden front, the rest is mid C19 infill block. Windows similar. In ½-bay
glazed timber gabled porch with 4-centred arch to fanlight, and 6-panel double
door. Stack on face of right gable. Bargeboards to gable. C20 addition to left
end.
