SU 43 SE HEADBOURNE WORTHY DOWN FARM LANE

6/11 Upper Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse C17, encased C18, enlarged early C20. Timber-frame core brick and
flint bands, reused stone, brick dressings, old plain tile roof. 2 storey and
attic 3 bay and smoke/passage bay, with C20 wing to rear at left facing farm-
yard. Doorway to right of centre and stack on its right, with C19 4-panel door
under C19 timber trellis porch with tented lead roof. To left C19 2-light
casement with another above. 2 C19 4-light casements with string course along
heads. Above 2-light casement reset carved stone cherubs head, and above
other windows rendered panel below C19 3-light casement with similar above door.
Roof half-hipped to right with large stack at left end, small gabled dormer above
door and ridge stack to right of it.
