House. Early C18 with early C19 wing to rear. Chequerwork brick, slated
and tiled roofs. 5 bay double pile building with early C19 lower 2 storey
wing added to left rear corner. 2 storey and attic, 5 bay. Central 6-panel
door under late C18. Doric porch of 2 columns and 2 pilasters on doorcase
supporting full entablature with in frieze, over columns, on front and sides,
lions heads in roundels. 9 12-pane flush framed sashes with rubbed brick heads.
1st floor string course and moulded timber eaves cornice. Hipped slate front
roof with 2 flat roofed dormers with 6-pane sashes. Rear roof tiled.
Symmetrical stacks on end wall to front roof and at right end stack to rear roof.
Inside door opens into hall which itself leads through a segmental arch of
moulded timber to a staircase hall with steep C18 open spiral staircase with
tall window behind. Many other C18 features survive. Early C19 wing has
unaltered front with casements and 20-pane sashes.
