SU 5132 ITCHEN VALLEY EASTON

13/30 Dairy Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Early C18. Colourwashed brickwork, old plain roof with medieval-
style ridge tiles with combs. 2 storey and attic on cellar 5 bay building,
outshot to rear with C19 lean-to at right end. Cl9 half-glazed central door
in older frame, each side 2 narrow flush frame sashes, altered C19, all openings
with segmental heads 1st floor string course, broken over door. Above door
wide blank opening with strong course sill, and each side 2 narrow sashes
altered C19. Each side of centre a 2-light hipped dormer. Gable end stacks.
Lean-to has C19 sash. Inside C18 and C19 interior with massive tree-post
supporting rear wall of original house where it has been removed to provide
access to outshot.
