SU 5132 ITCHEN VALLEY EASTON

13/31 The Corner

GV II

Small house. C18, probably of C16 origin. Timber-frame with brick infill
and later encasing, rendered C19, old plain tile roof. Irregular 2 storey
3 bay building with outshot to rear and lean-to to right. Central 6-panel
top-lit door under flat hood with later posts. To east side C18 12-pane sash
in segmental headed opening. Above 2 C18 12-pane sashes with above and right
of the door a 2-light casement. Lean-to at right end has C20 steel glazed door
and further extension behind it. Gable end stacks, that to right end being
much larger. Inside, behind door, passage formed on one side by built-in C17
Chinese cherry-wood and lacquer-work 5-panel screen. Other features C18.
Cruck roof of 4 bays with 2 cruck trusses rebuilt, leaving 3.
