12/1 Mill House

GV II

House incorporating older cottage. C17, added to C18 and mid C19. Timber-
frame with later masonry incised render and similarly treated brick additions
and colourwashed brick addition, old plain tile roof. 3 bay timber-frame with
2 bay wing to right of brick and reused squared stone, possibly originally a
malt-house, all rendered and C19 2 bay by 2 bay block added to left; this part
is 2 storey, the rest being 1½ storey. Building on slope from left to right
with increasing plinths and cellars to C19 part. C19 part has 2-panel door in
doorcase with open pediment added C20, canted flat-roofed bay and large and
small sash above. Earliest part has in centre similar bay with to left C18
9-pane sash and to right and above 4 2-light casements. In right part C18
planked door with tile-hung gable with 3-light casement, and casement in aided
end bay. C19 part has hipped roof and central stack. Ridge stack to right
C17 bay and at right end.
