12/4 The Hurst

GV II

Cottage. C17 and early C19. Timber-frame encased in colourwashed flint and
brick, thatched roof. 3 bay timber-frame encased in flint and brick when outshot
added to rear and bay added to right. Front 1½ storey, 4 bay. Central early
C19 6-flush panel door, top-lit, under flat hood with oversized curled brackets.
Each side and in right bay mid C19 5-light casement in cambered head, with
unusual moulded frame. Above each side of door similar casement in eyebrow
dormer. Roof half-hipped to left with ridge piece. Large ridge stack above
door and smaller one to right end of original building.
