5/27 Drovers Cottage

GV II

Cottage. Circa 1500. C18 altered early C20 by G H
Kitchin. Timber-frame encased in brick, old plain tile roof. 1½ storey,
4 bay and passage bay timber-frame building. Front has early C20 hip-
roofed open front brick and timber porch with higher eaves than rest of
house and 2-light leaded casement in flat dormer in front of hall bay to
right of centre with passage bay in centre marked by small light high on
wall. Parlour bay at right has 2-light segmented head leaded casement
with service bay having a Kitchin canted bay window and C20 3-light casement
in left bay. On 1st floor 3 2-light flat roofed dormers. Roof hipped
with ridge stack above passage bay.
