House

GV II

Farmhouse. C16 core, encased and extended C18. Timber-frame core encased
in brick, with some blue headers, old plain tile roof. 3 bay and smoke bay
timber-frame building with taller eaved, lower ridged bay added to left and
left bay rebuilt to match rest after refronting, when single storey service
buildings added to right, then c1800 parallel range added to rear. Front
2 storey, 5 bay, including blank smoke bay to left of centre. C20 hip-
roofed porch of brick lower and glazed upper with C18 6-panel door, to left
of centre. In left and centre bays large C18 20-pane segmental headed
sashes, in right bay smaller similar 16-pane sash. On 1st floor in centre
and end bays C18 12-pane segmental headed sashes, that to right on higher
level. All windows have C19 louvred shutters. Projecting brick eaves
cornice to original part and dentilled cornice to higher eaves of left 2
bays. Roof of main part hipped with large stack to left of centre. Lower
further forward hipped roof to left bays.
