7/15 Silkstead House

GV II

Farmhouse, now private residence. C17 refaced C18, altered C19. Timber-
frame core encased in chequer-work brickwork. C17 3 bay and smoke bay
building refaced C18 with bay added C19. Garden front 2 storey and attic,
part on cellar, 4 bay with C19 bay to left. C18 doorway with C20 glazed
door and open timber gabled porch between right bays. To left early C20
canted bay, other windows C19 4-light casements, on 1st floor early C19 1,
2 & 3-light cast iron casements with lozenge panes. Right bays have C19
gabled dormers with bargeboards and similar casements. External stack on
kneelered right gable and ridge stack in centre with octagonal shafts rising
from square base. Roof hipped to left.
