Country house. C18, early C19, with renovation and extensions of c1900. Walls of
brickwork, some English bond, mostly Flemish Garden Wall bond and some Flemish
bond, all with blue headers, header bond on curved walls, rubbed flat (some
round) arches and cambered arches at the rear. Hipped tile roofing, stepped eaves
band. A building with a wide front, and outer, rear wings, with a number of
alterations and extensions in an upward direction, resulting in a complex roof form.
Symmetrical south-west front, with almost semi-circular bays at each side; two
storeys and semi-basement, 3.1.3 windows. Sashes in reveals, the ground-floor
light of each bay being taller with a semi-circular head. Doorcase (early C20)
with cornice on carved brackets, pulvinated frieze, architrave enclosing a semi-
circular fanlight, half-glazed door, with a flight of 10 spreading stone steps
flanked by wrought iron rails. The side elevations are irregular, and contain
some recent features: the rear elevation shows plain wings and there is a tall
