Description

SWANMORE HAMPTON HILL
SU 51 NE
4/33 Longwood
II

House. Of earlier origin, late C18 with early C20 extensions. Front wall of
brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, red quoins, blue header panels
between and on each side of the upper windows, 1st floor band, cambered arches
with flat extrados: other walls of Flemish Garden Wall bond with blue headers.
Tile roof, with catslide at rear, gabled rear wings and staircase wing. Symmetrical
north-west front elevation of two storeys three windows. C20 leaded casements.
Plain doorway with head on brackets. Inside, there are C17 beams, a C20 stair-
case in the C18 staircase wing, and oak panelling of c1700 form (probably c1900).
This is apparently a farmhouse with vanished outbuildings, now appearing in a
suburban setting.
