Good house dated 1692. Russet brick; 5 sash windows, that at centre of 2nd storey
with open pediment; moulded brick bands at 1st and 2nd storeys; stone long and
short chamfered quoins at sides; good moulded lead rainwater head at 1st floor
with above date; central doorway in stuccoed surround with plain pilasters, moulded
wood doorcase with radial fanlight, 5 fielded-panelled door, moulded wood dentilled
cornice hood on large elaborate wrought iron scrolled brackets rising from railings
(qv) and stone steps up. Moulded wood modillion eaves cornice; slates. Interior:
Good contemporary features comprising staircase with twisted balusters, pine and oak
panelling, doorcasings and doors in ground storey rooms and angled fireplace in
room to left of entrance with carved pine over-mantel. Projecting to rear at south
side is a large 2-storey C18 wing (undergoing restoration, 1976) which contains
4 Adam fireplaces and moulded plaster ceilings.

Nos 45 to 51 (odd), Railings and lamp standards of No 51 and Nos 55 to 69 (odd)
form a group.
