House. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed with some
replacement timbers on lias limestone base, rendered infill, roughcast to
south gable end, plain tiled raised roof. Three framed bays aligned north/
south with single bay full-height porch wing to right of central bay of
east front elevation, and external chimney with offsets at south gable end
and also chimney in central bay with brick stack to rear of ridge; single
storey and attic with half-dormers. Framing: four panels from sill to wall-
plate with some long straight lower braces; porch wing has small rectangular
panels in front gable and two rows of close-set vertical studding in side
elevation; collar and tie-beam truss with three struts in north gable end.
East front elevation: asymetrical arrangement; ground floor has a 3-light
casement with a plank weathering and a 2-light casement to the left of the
porch, and a 3-light casement to the right of it; gabled half-dormers in
each outer bay, the left one with paired 2-light casements and the right
one with a 3-light casement; 3-light casements in ground and upper floor of
porch gable end, main entrance in left side elevation having a C20 door with
side lights. Porch and dormer gables have C19 scalloped bargeboards with
moulded pendant finials at the apex. Interior not inspected.
