6/12 Wheel Cottage

GV II
House. C17 with mid-C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed with
painted brick and rendered infill, brick replacement walling, plain tiled
roof, half-hipped to south gable end, and brick ridge stack. Three framed
bays aligned north/south; two storeys. Framing: mainly three panels from
sill to wall-plate, some short straight braces in upper corners, collar and
tie-beam truss with struts and V-struts in apex at north gable end. West
front elevation: irregular fenestration, windows are all C20 casements;
ground floor has two 3-light windows and a first floor 2-light window; blocked
doorway to right side; also blocked door with cambered head in south gable end;
present main entrance at rear with C20 door. Interior not inspected. Included
for group value.
