GV II
House. C17 with mid-C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed, painted
brick and rendered infill, brick refacing and replacement walling,
thatched roof. Two framed bays aligned north/south with large external
chimney and detached stack at south gable end; single storey and attic with
dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, collar and tie-beam
truss with V-strut above collar partly visible at south gable end.
West front elevation: ground floor has a window in each bay and dormer window
cut into thatch at left side; all windows are 2-light casements; central C20
door; chimney at south gable end extended flush with front elevation beneath
a lean-to tiled roof and with a rectangular light facing west. Interior:
intermediate collar and tie-beam truss with struts, single tier of trenched
purlins; winder staircase in north bay rebuilt c1940. A C20 lean-to extension
adjoins the rear extension.
