Farmhouse. Probably early C17, altered mid-C18; restored mid-C20. Part
timber-framed with brick infill, part brick (including some handmade bricks);
plain tiled roofs. Square plan of two parallel two-bay ranges aligned roughly
east/west and having large external chimneys with off-sets to each side
elevation. Two storeys and attics. Framing: visible at first-floor level
to west elevation and partly in side elevations; long rectangular panels
with some short straight braces across upper corners; collar and tie-beam
trusses with two long struts to collar and short raking side struts.
Windows are all C20 casements with cambered heads; East front elevation:
three ground-and first-floor windows, attic lights; central entrance has C20
lean-to timber-framed porch with a brick base and, within, a C18 door with
six raised and fielded panels and a transom light. Interior has stop-
chamfered main beams. C19 single-storey additions encase external chimney
at north side elevation. A substantial farmhouse retaining much of its
former character.
