Ha-ha. Late C18. Brick with sandstone coping. About four feet high and
420 yards long. The ha-ha was built during Emma Vernon's time when George
London's formal garden layout was replaced by a more fashionable natural
setting. (Hanbury Hall, The National Trust Official Guidebook, 1981, p 30).
