House, now converted into 3 separate dwellings. Mid-C18, enlarged early
C19, with late C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Roughcast,
hipped, slate roof partly behind parapet, large brick chimney stacks.
Partly 3, partly 2 storeys and cellar. U-shaped plan; originally a mid-
C18 house facing south, wings added at each end during early C19,,the
west wing forming the new front elevation and the south gable ends of
each wing terminating in flat-roofed, bowed projections. West front
elevation: 2 storeys, first floor sill band and moulded cornice below
parapet; 6 bays, central entrance and irregularly spaced fenestration;
ground floor has multi-paned double doors and a blocked tall window to
left of entrance and 3 tall openings to right, the outer ones are blocked
and the central one contains a 15-pane sash; on the first floor are four,
15-pane sashes, bay four and six are blocked; all sash windows have decorated
blind boxes; entrance has 2 Doric columns supporting a moulded flat canopy,
and a door with 6 raised and fielded panels, side lights and above them a
large, traceried segmental fanlight. A single storey kitchen wing adjoins
to left. The south elevation is of 1:5:1 bays; central 5 bays are 3 storeys
with band between storeys and a dentilled eaves cornice; ground floor has
2, C20 doors, first floor has glazing bar sashes and second floor 6-pane
sashes; the outer bays are bowed and 2 storeys with a sill band beneath
the first floor window; both have tall tripartite windows with Doric columns
on both floors with decorative glazing and a central cross casement.
Interior has been much altered and the east wing converted from 2 to 3
storeys. There are 2 stained glass windows to rear of original part.
Also to rear east is an embattled parapet. Single storey late C19 and mid-
C20 extensions at rear.
